Before I had kids, I remembered hearing people say how hard it is to keep up with all of the milestones and make sure they are recorded for you to look back on one day. I told myself that I would be better about it and I meant it.
I started with Langston’s baby book and kept it up for oh, about 2 months. Now, I just stuff the summary papers from our pediatrician appointments in to the baby book. And Riverson…yeah, I’ve kinda failed him in that area….no baby book.
But, I justify it by saying our blog is their baby book. He might be mad at me one day when he looks back and doesn’t find a baby book for himself. Or, he might be really impressed that they have so many stories about themselves online. Who knows.
One thing I do know is that with the social media age we are in, it makes it so much easier to share and record all of the things the kids do and accomplish. Obviously I share everything on our blog, post snippets on facebook and twitter, as well as videos on youtube. Meet Bnter, pronounced “banter.” It’s a free social network where you can record all of those awesome conversations you never want to forget.
You can even grab conversations you had from Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, etc. Once you post your conversations on bnter, you can choose to share them with friends you have on Facebook, Twitter, or tumblr. It’s a great way for your friends and family to see how funny your kids are at each age. The best part is it’s so easily accessible. You can access bnter.com from your laptop, ipad, or smartphone.
Connect with your facebook and twitter friends, upload a picture of yourself, and post a conversations. It’s as easy as that to get started up. This is what mine looked like after posting a little of what Langston said to me.
I think it will be a great tool many moms will LOVE to use. I bet someone could use it to make a pretty funny little book with everything their little ones say.
Head on over to Bnter.com and start sharing your funny conversations with everyone you know. Best of all, you’ll always have a place to keep those great memories.
