I have had several blog posts I have been thinking about writing just because I have several pictures and stories I want to have documented.
These past few days haven’t been too terribly eventful, but as usual, we have been busy.
On Thursday, we attended a neighborhood Cinco de Mayo play date and it was a lot of fun to meet several other moms and babies who live so close to us. I absolutely LOVE our neighborhood and right before Riverson was born, I joined the Mom’s Club. Best. Decision! So many great mom’s live right out our front door and I’m excited about the friends we will all make through these connections.
Mollie was our Cinco de Mayo hostess and she did a great job with food and decor in her home. I think we had about 10 kids/babies and almost as many moms. Riverson was able to show off his new skillz! The picture is blurry, but I’m sure proud of my little buddy.
Langston was busy in the background playing with this fun toy.
He had a lot of fun mixing things up in the bowl with his spoon and then eating his pretend food. It was too cute!
We had a great time and I really enjoyed meeting other moms.
On Friday, Langston hit a big milestone. He had his first trip to the dentist! I was really excited because I have been wanting to know more about Langston’s teeth and the shape of his mouth. I have been worried for a while about how his top teeth are not next to his other teeth, but are in front of. It’s almost as if those 6 front teeth are a little bit staggered. I found the answer to our problem. It’s time to ditch the paci!
The dentist told me there are two types of pacifier kids; those who are passive with their pacifiers, meaning they just like it in the mouths, and those who are aggressive, meaning they continually suck on it. Langston is aggressive. He loves to have his paci and he loves to suck on it. After that visit, I’m on a mission to keep it hidden, except for at bedtime. I think after he turns two, I will get more aggressive about kissing it goodbye. I hope he still loves me. :)
On Friday night, Jeff and I got to get away and head to the Ranger game. While we were there, we actually got fortunate enough to run in to a ballpark celebrity.
The lady between us sits several rows in front of our seats and is at EVERY game! She has a small drum she stands up and beats on to get the crowd more involved in the game. I have no idea how old she is, but I have seen her at the game for years. Jeff and I were both so excited when we saw her, we decided we had to have a picture with her and her friend.
Yesterday, my mom and I spent a several hours together as we worked on a new project of ours. We have decided we wanted to build our own chaise lounge chairs using plans from Ana White.
My sweet hubby started out with us at Home Depot as he helped us pick out our wood. Since he runs a fence company and deals with wood pretty regularly, I thought he would be a big help for us. He was!
When we got home, my mom and I got started on our project but spent the majority of our time together making our necessary cuts. I measured all of our cuts and she did all of the cutting.
We made a pretty good team and I’m excited about getting back to it tomorrow while the boys nap. Hopefully we will be able to get a LOT finished! I’m so excited to see the finished product and I hope it’s just the beginning of wood projects we/I get to do.
This afternoon, we had Jeff’s mom and step dad over for a yummy steak meal. Jeff did a great job on the steaks and I had a few sides to add to it. We all had a great time eating, watching the Mavs, and enjoying each other’s company. Langston loved getting to have his grandparents here for the day.
I had a great Mother’s Day and I’m topping it off by enjoying both of my boys in their own beds. That’s right, I’m sad to admit it, but Riverson has been in our bed for a while. For several reasons, it has taken longer than I would have liked to get him in a consistent bed routine. I hope we are on the right path, now. :)

[...] the past few days and I’m excited to say that things are just about finished! I actually told you all about this project back in May! Yes, 2 months ago, I started this project. I’m embarrassed to admit it, but [...]
