Easter is one of my favorite holidays of the year. Of course I love the meaning behind the holiday and the reason to celebrate! We have the same routine we’ve done for many years now and that includes a lunch with my dad and step-mom at Brookhaven Country Club.
There have been years where we’ve had almost 15 of us and then there have been years where we’ve had about half of that, but no matter how many of us there are, we always have a great time and leave full full and happy bellies. Actually, I think “full” is an understatement. The food is amazing! Really, it is. With so many options to pick from, it’s hard not to want a little bit of everything!
As my own family has expanded over the years, I think my favorite thing about the day has changed from the food to the pictures. I love seeing my family all dressed up and the pictures I find on my camera when we get home.
We literally get maybe 3 or 4 chances a year to have a nice picture made with all seven of us in it. I don’t even care that Brantley’s more interested in other things. She’s still cute! 😉
This little putt putt course Brookhaven has built is PERFECT for the restless kids we had after lunch.
My dad is an AVID golfer and my boys love playing golf. This picture makes me smile inside.
Since I use these pictures every Christmas to create a personalized Shutterfly calendar, my dad and step-mom are happy to oblige in front of the camera!
My step-sister, Kendra, was the only other sibling of mine in attendance. We were a little bit of a light crowd, although I don’t think it can be called “light” if my family is ever included. 😉
This gorgeous girl found this adorable dress on our shopping trip this weekend. I’ll be blogging more about that this week. It’s hard for me to believe she’s so grown up and beautiful now, but then I get that fun teenage girl attitude and I’m quickly reminded. 😉
And, I’m pretty sure Easton got this new mature look overNIGHT! I can’t believe how big he is. He’s a guy who loves to be comfortable and athletic clothes are his very favorite and ONLY attire. I couldn’t stop telling him how good he looked in these khakis and this collared shirt. I think he secretly liked his preppy look. 😉
My step-sister, Kendra, is always so willing to love on my babies and I love that about her!
Since we’re a family of seven, we rarely go out all together. There were moments during lunch when I felt like we could hardly talk because we were so focused on the kids’ many needs and complaints. However, we avoided a meltdown, and I call that a win, but I’ve definitely changed my expectations over the years. 😉
My dad might have had a few moments of second guessing himself when it comes to the thought of inviting us for lunch. We are a handful, in more ways than one!
