I have been a blog reader for years! It’s part of the reason why I wanted to start my own blog, which I did back in 2007. Hard to believe it’s been over 4 years that this blog has been up and kicking. Sometimes it’s been hanging by a thread, when life got in the way, but it’s been going, nonetheless.
I wanted to share with you some of my favorite DIY blogs to read. Some of these I have been reading for years and some of them I recently found. They have all been inspirational for me, at some point.
I LOVE taking on projects for our home. I’m not afraid to get out of my element and pick up a power tool, or five. It makes me feel good to know I can do it on my own and don’t need my husband to do it for me. I guess I was raised to be independent like that. {Thanks, Mom.}
Don’t get me wrong. I’m thankful for Jeff. There may have been a time or two that I’ve come to him with my head hanging, saying, “I messed up. I need your help.” Hate hate hate it.
Although I do lots of projects, I don’t come up with ideas on my own. My brain just doesn’t work that way.
I AM, however, a learner. I love new challenges and projects and I’ll try just about anything (that we can afford). I think that’s why I love these blogs I’m about to tell you about. They constantly have tutorials and tell you exactly how they did what they did! Perfect for this girl!
My first favorite blog is one I find countless projects to tackle, like Hallie’s full length mirror, my outdoor chaise loungers, and my “JOY” candlesticks. The Shanty 2 Chic sisters are so inspiring. I love ALL of their projects and every time their emails pop up in my inbox, I get excited to see what they’ve been up to lately.
All Things Thrifty is a blog that shows off a lot of furniture repurposing and painting projects. I just love her style and ideas. Check out some of her awesome projects here.

She and her husband are fixing up the house they just bought and she is in the middle of constant projects. Just hop on over there. You might not come back. {But, please do.}

Sarah always has great ideas! I even copied her Santa hats project and I love them!

So tell me, do you have any favorite sites you love to go to for home inspiration?? I’m always looking for new places to check out and get sucked in to.
