She’s One Month Old

Can you believe how fast the last month has gone by?

Me neither!

If only the last month of my pregnancy had gone by as fast as the first month of her life! Ha!  I think that is every pregnant woman’s dream.  The last month is definitely the worst!

But the reward at the end is so so worth it!

This one month old baby girl has definitely been my reward.  She’s such a fantastic baby!  I really couldn’t have asked for a better baby.

We’re all adjusting very well and I’d say that it seems like she’s always been a part of our family, but I don’t think we’re quite there yet. Soon, I bet. :)

I still say to myself on occasion, “I can’t believe I have another little baby.”  And then I say, “I can’t believe she’s a GIRL!”

Blessed beyond belief are my usual feelings.

How are we sleeping???

She wakes up about once a night to eat, if that.

I know.  I’m really so lucky.

I remember Langston getting up 3 and 4 times a night.  It didn’t take much for me to just cry from pure exhaustion in the middle of the night.

On the couple of nights where Brantley has kept me up, I’ve told myself, “Jamie, this is the last baby you will wake up to feed in the middle of the night.  In the grand scheme of things, it will pass by so quickly.  Enjoy snuggling with her.”

And I have enjoyed her.

She starts the night out in her bed, but some nights I can’t resist laying her in my bed to stare at and snuggle her.  These moments are fleeting.  I’m going to hold on to them in my mind, if nothing else.

Now, we have one slight problem and I’m pretty sure I’ve created it.

I think she might be just a liiiiiiitle bit spoiled.  Maybe it’s because she’s my last baby and maybe it’s because she’s a girl.  I don’t know, but I hold her a lot.

So, of course, she likes that.

Guess what happens when she falls asleep and I put her down?

Yep, she wakes up.

The girl likes to be held and I’m pretty sure it’s all my fault.

I can’t help it.  I LOVE snuggling with this sweet girl!

I’m pretty sure I picked the worst time of the day to do her one month photo shoot.

She was tired and really could have cared less that I wanted a cute picture of her for our little ole blog.  As a matter of fact, this is what she really thought of that whole idea:

#1 comment I get from people who meet her/see her for the first time: “Her hair!!”

Yes, this girl has lots of hair and I LOVE it.

The boys had heads full of hair, too, but her hair is longer and thicker.  She takes the cake between the three of them!

All three of my babies at 1 month old.

And because this blog serves as my baby book:

  • Still wearing newborn clothes but not for much longer.
  • Moved to a size 1 diaper.
  • LOVE LOVE LOVE bath time.
  • Lazy eater. (you fall asleep almost every time you are eating)
  • This has turned you in to more of a snacker because you’re hungry as soon as you wake up
  • You rarely burp.  We try and try but it’s almost always nothing. Too ladylike, maybe? :)
  • The baby acne monster has come to visit us.  Not pretty. :(
  • Your eyes sure are blue.  ::I’m crossing my fingers::
  • Just this week, we’ve been able to get you to smile while we talk to you.  It’s precious!

You’re precious, Brantley.  We’re crazy about you!  I thank God for you everyday!

  4. She’s precious!!  My daughter had intense baby acne and it didn’t clear up until almost two months – my son never had any baby acne so it kind of freaked me out!

Enjoy your little one.  I’m done having kids (even though my son told me this morning he wants TWO MORE BABIES…hahahahahahahah) and I love seeing pictures of other peoples sweet little mushy bundles of newborn love.  <3
