Sibling Love

We are right in the middle of a road trip to my big brother’s house in Baton Rouge.  We had to come without Jeff since he had to stay home and work so that meant I loaded up the car with 4 kids and myself to make the haul over to the next state. :)

We are having a great time hanging out with our family but I sure do miss my husband!  And, there’s just something about having my little ones in their own beds.  It just makes everything run much smoother. :)  Nevertheless, they are having a blast with cousins.  I can’t wait to get my pictures on the computer and share everything we’ve been up to.

We’ve had the big kids with us for the past week and Langston and Riverson are loving having their big brother and sister to play with.

I just love when I see them bonding or being sweet to each other.

Last weekend, we blew up our $29 Target pool, filled it up, and let the kids have at it.  There was lots of fun to be had and they made the most of it. :)

We actually have a real pool in our backyard, but it takes a LOT longer than other pools to get warm in the summer since it’s covered by a tree most of the day.  {so disappointing!}  Hopefully it will be ready for us to hang out in soon.  But, I love that the boys can run around in this pool and not have to worry about who knows how to swim and who doesn’t.

It’s much better on a mamma’s nerves than the big pool! :)

Although I don’t really LOVE the age gap between our big kids and little kids so much (8 and 10 years difference), it is what it is.  I guess it helps me to appreciate the times when they actually do love on each other or even have fun together.

Jeff and I had maternity pictures taken by my sweet friend, Brooke, this past week.  I can’t wait to show them to you!  If you want to see them before I put them on the blog, there’s a sneak peek on Brooke’s Facebook page.  While you’re there, feel free to give her page a “Like.”  She’s very talented!

While we were down the street getting pictures taken, we left the little boys with Hallie.  When we got home, she had some pretty darn cute pictures to share with us, herself! :)

These pictures are sure to make you smile!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE seeing signs of love between the kids.  It doesn’t happen all of the time, so I cherish it when I see it.

I think sibling love is one of the greatest bonds and I’m so glad our kids get to experience it!

I have three brothers who are all about 12 years older than me, so I pretty much grew up an only child.  I always wished I had a sibling closer to my age, but I wouldn’t trade my brothers for anything! :)

I hope you had a great weekend!  Be on the lookout for our Baton Rouge pictures and say a prayer for me!  I’m taking the big kids to the water park on Tuesday.  And yes, I’m about 35 weeks pregnant!  ;)  Crazy, I know, but it’s our yearly tradition. :)

  1. What great pics! And isn’t it funny how a blow-up tub with water in it can keep them happy for hours?!?

I remember having to pry my nieces out of that thing!
Carrie´s last [type] ..I felt old. I felt young. I saw Tom Cruise’s nipples. All in the same 2 hours.
