Summer, that is.

Our big kids got out of school for summer, on Friday.  Easton finished up his elementary school run and now he’s headed on to middle school.  It’s hard to believe how fast the time has flown by.

There was a cute graduation ceremony for his class on Thursday evening and it was WORK keeping our little ones quiet and happy, but we made it. :)

It truly seems like yesterday when we were talking to him about how much fun Kindergarten would be!  He’s come a long way and we’re so proud of him!

Next year, Easton and Hallie will both be in the same school, except he will be the little 6th grader and she will be the big 8th grader.  It will be VERY interesting to see how that whole dynamic plays out.  Hopefully we will be pleasantly surprised in the way they get along.  :)

After school got out on Friday, Easton had a 5th grade swim party, so I wanted to take Hallie to do something fun.  And, shopping it was!  She left the mall with some cute things and while we were in there, I came out with one of the greatest pictures ever!

He saw me try this cute headband on and immediately wanted to try it on his head, too.  Really!  He WANTED to have it on his head.  Then he wanted me to take his picture.  I just wanted to make him happy.

Swear, y’all. ;)

I sent it by text to Jeff and his response was, “Um, no!”  Ha!

I am going to keep this picture very well protected because one day I know I will need it again. ;)

Love that boy!!

Speaking of boys, it’s hard for me to write a blog post without sharing something the boys did.  Check out this 6 second video.  It definitely makes me laugh!  This is the boys preparing for the fall.  Or, every fall, for the next who knows how many years.

Can you tell we do that a lot? :)  Langston actually asks Jeff to do it for him.

Our busy weekend was topped off with a friendly game of baseball between our baseball team and all of the moms.  I did take part in the festivities last year and had a great time, but with a growing belly (31 weeks along), I thought it was best to sit on the sidelines and cheer on my girlfriends!

The competitive side of me hated sitting there just watching!  Hated!

Jeff played umpire and it was pretty funny!  He complained about getting hit by balls, but I think he really loved it.  Two other dads pitched to make it fair for the two teams.

My boys had a blast, just hanging out and being outside, among everyone.

After the game was over, we all made our way to Babe’s Chicken.  I know Babe’s is just a DFW, Texas thing, but y’all, it’s heavenly.  {If you live near DFW, go NOW!}  It’s perfect down home cookin’ for this pregnant mamma!  I could eat to my heart’s content and not feel guilty about it when I rolled out of the front door.  And, that’s exactly what I did!

The other perk is it’s loud, so it’s not bad to bring your loud toddlers. ;)  No, honestly, I was really proud of the way the boys behaved.  We hate taking them out to dinner lately, but they really did great!

The big kids will be with their mom the first two weeks of the summer and we will all reunite for two weeks starting Father’s Day weekend.

This is a big week for us!  Langston is turning THREE!!  Yes, three years have passed since I got that new title of Mommy.  It gets better with every passing day, but it would be so much better if he would just pee pee in the potty!!  ;)

That’s big on our agenda over the next few weeks.  I’ll keep you posted!
