The NoseFrida: My New Favorite Baby Tool

Have you ever heard of the NoseFrida?

If you have, and you have small children, then I’m sure you own one.

If you haven’t, you must go buy one immediately!

A couple of weeks ago, when Brantley got very sick and ended up in the Emergency Room, twice, I bought the NoseFrida and y’all, it changed our lives!

I used to think I was a master with that blue bulb snot sucking thing they send home with you from the hospital.  Yes, it usually made my baby cry, but I could deal with it because it was getting the job done.  ….or so I thought!

My best friend, Kelly, had mentioned the NoseFrida a couple of times in the past, and I just brushed it off.  I’ve even read a blog post about the NoseFrida on Dallas Moms Blog.  It STILL didn’t win me over.  {I’m stubborn sometimes.}

But, when I watched my newborn congested baby struggle to breathe because of the insane amount of congestion in her body, I was willing to do anything!!

One of the best things about it is that my husband is even willing to do it!  He actually thinks he’s better at it so it’s a waste of time for me to do it.  Whatever you think, babe. ;) {I honestly just think it’s awesome that he’s willing to do it.}

Yes, it looks disgusting and I think that’s part of the reason I wasn’t willing to even look in to buying it until now.  The description I had heard about it was that you suck the snot out of their nose with your own mouth.  Um, that thought is disgusting.  No thank you.

But, although you DO use your own air to suck out their nose, there is NO WAY for you to get anything in your own mouth.  With a filter at the end of the tube it stops whatever could pass through.  Trust me, if there was any chance of anything passing through, my husband would NOT be so willing to use the NoseFrida.  I can assure you of that. ;)

Another perk to the whole process is not hearing my baby cry nearly as much when we are trying to clear out her nose.  The blue bulb makes babies cry almost all of the time.  {If it doesn’t make your baby ever cry then you seriously are the pro!}  The NoseFrida just barely goes in to the baby’s nose, making it a lot less uncomfortable for the baby.

While it’s a little harder to just run out and buy the NoseFrida, you can find it at BuyBuy Baby if you have one in your area.

This affiliate link will also take you to Amazon, where you can buy it, as well.

You will definitely want the additional filters for your NoseFrida.

The NoseFrida was designed by a doctor in Switzerland.  Knowing that a doctor created this tool makes it a little more reputable for me. :)

When I told friends on Facebook about how amazing the NoseFrida was for us, someone even told me about a product, made by the same company, called The Windi.  It helps babies get rid of gas, and we’re not talking burps.  Seriously. I had to go see it on their website to believe it. Ha!

I never knew how much I needed the NoseFrida until Brantley was really struggling.  Save yourself that worry and go get one now.  You’ll be so glad.

*I’m not making anything for telling you about this great product.  They don’t even know I exist. :) I seriously just want to share something we have found to be so beneficial for our baby.

    The blue bulb of death as I like to call it could only be done by my husband while I left the room! I will have to remember this when #2 comes along!!

Those blue bulbs they send you home with from the hospital aren’t very effective when you’re dealing with RSV symptoms. I have loved having this little thing and although it looks so strange, I’ve found it to be so much more effective! [...]
