If you read this post, you already know, this guy turned three last Thursday! It was a busy day, but honestly, we didn’t do a whole lot of celebrating. We’ll be celebrating later this month with friends. On his actual birthday, we just showered him with lots of love and some of his favorite things, like donuts, for instance.
He loves donuts for breakfast! Let’s be honest, I LOVE DONUTS for breakfast.
Donut holes are my absolute favorite! He was so happy to go to our neighborhood donut shop and pick out what he wanted and then get home to eat it up!
We spent a little while at the doctor’s office to get some answers for Riverson’s stool sample test. I’m glad to get some answers, but I’m still processing everything they told us and trying to learn more. I’ll be posting about that in a couple of days.
I made Langston’s favorite dinner that night, and I think it took his mind off of the fact that he had to wait at the doctor’s office on his birthday.
The boys LOVE spaghetti dinner. It’s messy as all get out, but I love seeing them so happy while they eat. It was pure silence and lots of shoving of noodles in to the mouth. The utensils were really just accessories to the pictures.
The night before Langston’s birthday, Jeff’s mom invited us over for a fun little family dinner and cake for Langston.
While we were there, she gave me a picture of Jeff she found from when he was Langston’s age. I looked at it and thought, “Are you kidding me?” Langston is a spitting image of him! I swear he’s my son, too, y’all.
Check out the picture comparison.
On Friday, we made our way to one of our very favorite swimming pools in our area, with my girlfriend, Kelly, and her daughter, Hadleigh. If you live close enough to Jack Carter pool in Plano, you MUST go there. It’s free for kids under 3 and only $3 for those over 3. You can’t beat the price for what you get! {unless it was free, of course
} My little guys LOVE this place and so do I.
Saturday was a birthday party morning. We got to try out a fun little place called Paradise Pond, for the first time. So fun!! Langston spent the majority of his time at this game. Riverson stood there, most of the time, just holding the ball.
He was actually REALLY good and kept sinking baskets. He had good form, too!! One of the dads there even asked me if we play basketball a lot at home. I have a feeling our team sports days are going to be fun fun fun!! It probably helps that he has a sports loving older brother and daddy!
As much fun as they had, I almost hate to tell you how the party ended for us. I’ll give you the cliff notes. Langston threw a massive screaming fit when it was time to be finished playing and put our shoes back on. I had to yank him up off of the floor, while still carrying Riverson on my other hip. {Mind you, I’m 32 weeks pregnant, yanking my three year old up off of the ground and on to my hip, while holding my 19 month old on my other hip.} I bet I was quite the sight!
We made a quick exit and it took all I had not to explode when we got outside. I was so embarrassed!! Thankfully, Amy followed me out and helped me get the boys in to the car, while she gifted me a trashbag full of precious girl clothes!!! LOVE that girl!
He fell asleep about 4 minutes after we pulled out of the parking lot, so I know that was mostly what that fit was all about. But, still. Ugh!
After naps, we decided to head to the pool and beat the heat. It was more for me, than them. I swore I would be spending the majority of the summer in the pool, since I’m so large. I can’t let myself down.
Not to mention, this Riverson is obsessed with our fun swimming hole.
Check out this video. He literally did this over and over and over again. I was just lucky to get it on camera once. Feel free to play it again and again. It’s only 2 seconds and it is sure to make you smile!
We had a super fun weekend and I love looking back on times the boys and I get to spend together.
As I tucked them in bed last night, I was really dragging my feet in doing it. I had had so much fun with them over the past few days. I didn’t want it to end.
So, instead of being sad about it, we woke up this morning and went back to the pool!
Hope you all are having a great Monday!

Yes, eventually, it will only be expensive things that make them happy. Until then, I’m going to soak all of this up.
